As a valued part of our caregiving team, we want to keep you informed about important updates that impact your work and compensation. Earlier this year, on January 5, 2025, we announced changes regarding mileage and travel compensation. While the implementation was initially delayed, we want to confirm that these updates will officially take effect on March 30, 2025.
Key Updates
- Mileage Reimbursement: Mileage will no longer be reimbursed between client shifts.
- Travel Compensation: Travel time between client shifts will now be compensated.
- Time Calculation: Travel time will be based on the actual travel duration rather than clock-in and clock-out times.
Eligibility for Travel Compensation
To qualify for compensated travel time, caregivers must meet the following criteria:
- Shifts must be back-to-back, with the second shift starting within one hour of the first shift ending.
- Travel time will be calculated based on the estimated travel duration between client locations.
Why This Change?
This update aligns with Department of Labor guidelines to ensure fair compensation for time spent traveling between client locations. Our goal is to support our caregivers while maintaining compliance with labor regulations. Related Post : .
